During their time at Cambridge, some students may be unable to fully engage in their studies academically or otherwise. In some cases, their behaviour or experience may have a negative impact on them and others.  When there are concerns about a student’s fitness/capability to study, the Colleges and the University may initiate a Capability or Fitness to Study Procedure.

In these cases, we can help students think about what has happened and explore their options going forward.

Many colleges will provide information about their Capability or Fitness to Study procedures on their website or in their Student Handbook. Information about the University’s 'Supporting and Assessing Capability to Study' Procedure can be found here.
